You can't really compare cycles per second across entirely different processor architectures.Īs an example, an Intel Q9300 Core 2 processor with a clock speed of 2.5GHz and 4 cores has a Geekbench score of 4437, whereas a much newer Core i7 4850 has a lower clock speed of 2.3GHz and also has 4 cores, but has a Geekbench score of 11974, much higher despite the lower clock speed and same amount of cores.
